Database Market Share within Jelastic: December 2011

Today, Jelastic PaaS has over 5,000 users! So, at this important milestone, we wanted to share some database usage statistics with you.

Let’s start with database popularity. It’s kind of obvious which is the most popular, but there were some changes. You can check out our November stats to see the changes.

Here are the stats for December 2011:

As you can see, MySQL is the number one choice, just like last month. MariaDB, much newer in the database market, has a 20% share: a 5% increase over November. PostgreSQL is the least used and MongoDB’s share has remained about the same.

If we look at the stats based on region, we can see that the number of American MariaDB fans has increased, about 9% during the month.
