RUST, GERMANY – 21 March 2012 —Jelastic, the only Java-based platform-as-a-service (PaaS) capable of running and scaling Java applications without additional coding, today announced its integration with Parallels Automation Suite, the flagship software from Parallels, the hosting and cloud services enablement leader. Jelastic has also released its certified Application Packaging Standard (APS) package, enabling its PaaS application to be easily “plugged” into the infrastructure of any hosting provider that has implemented the standard APS application “socket”. The announcement was made here at WorldHostingDays (WHD) Global, taking place at the Europa-Park, in Rust Germany from 20-23 March, 2012. WHD Global is one of the world’s largest hosting events, with an estimated 3,500 attendees expected from over 80 countries.
Jelastic has worked closely on the Parallels Automation (PA) integration and its APS certification with Rusonyx, one of Russia’s leading Web hosting service providers. Rusonyx is Russia’s first fully automated web and email hosting providers, and relies on Parallels Business Automation and Parallels Virtuozzo Containers to power its hosting platform designed for Small to Medium Business customers.
In addition to Jelastic’s work with Rusonyx on the APS-certified package, the companies have completed full-integration with the Parallels Business Automation (PBA) management and control system. This will allow Jelastic to further simplify and automate its trailblazing, Java-based Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) offering.
“Unlike proprietary platforms that seek to lock developers into a particular cloud service, Jelastic has been designed to enable a wide ecosystem of hosting companies,” said Dmitry Sotnikov, COO of Jelastic. “Our out of the box integration with PA and PBA is yet another step toward enabling more hosters to provide Jelastic to their customers.”
“Jelastic’s APS package made the integration project easy. Jelastic is a very flexible platform with outstanding architecture that we are excited to provide to our customers,” said Andreas Schwarzkopf, General Manager of Rusonyx. “Jelastic is just as good as its motto: it is Easy to Create, Easy to Deploy, Easy to Scale, Easy to Manage”.
“We congratulate both Jelastic and Rusonyx on their integration with the Parallels Automation platform and for earning the APC certification for Jelastic’s innovative PaaS software,” said John Zanni, Vice President of Service Provider Marketing and Alliances at Parallels. “These milestones continue to position Jelastic as the emerging leader in the platform-as-a-service market, and Parallels looks forward to our ongoing collaboration with both partners as the PaaS market continues to grow.”
The integration with Parallels Automation and achieving its APC certification illustrates Jelastic’s ongoing commitment to out-of-the-box (OOB) integration with hosting industry platforms and standards. As Jelastic continues to grow, it will continue to ensuring its PaaS technology evolves and remains OOB compatible with other hosting platforms and standards.
Jelastic, Inc., a startup company based in Palo Alto, Calif., makes the Java server hosting platform for developers and hosting service providers. Jelastic is the only PaaS offering designed specifically for hosting service providers to deploy and make available to their customers. Jelastic automatically scales Java applications and allocates server resources required by applications, thus delivering the true next generation Java cloud computing.
