Software stack market share: June 2012

    Now that we are approaching the end of the month in June, we wanted to update our stats on the popularity of the different software stacks among the thousands of Java developers using Jelastic.

    Databases

    Below is the popularity of MySQL, MariaDB, Postgres, MongoDB and CouchDB among developers on Jelastic in June 2012.

    As you can see MySQL popularity continues to grow: a 7% increase over May.

    If we look at the database popularity by region, we see that Russian developers have different preferences.

    Application servers

    As you can see, Tomcat 7 continues to be the number one choice. This month it shows some more growth: a 9% increase!

    Again, Russia differs a little from everyone else, where Tomcat 7 has even more fans than in the USA and Europe.

    Wow! Java 7 continues to grow in popularity on Jelastic. It has a 5% increase over this moth.
